BioJosh Chen is a graphic designer and photographer based in Washington, D.C.

He is currently a designer at The Washington Post, where he designs, illustrates, and art directs across all sections of the paper—including the front page, Arts, Style, Books, Metro, and Travel. He excels at visual thinking across mediums: print, digital and social. He studied journalism and Asian American studies at Northwestern University.

His personal practice combines film photography and design, interrogating themes of belonging, home, identity, race, and queerness. He is interested in examining his experience growing up queer and Asian in the Midwest through images of tenderness and warmth.

Open for freelance photography and design work.
